Instructions

In canvas the Quizzes tool uses the term "quiz" as a generic term that includes: Quizzes, tests, exams, etc. and also includes surveys.

This quiz will familiarize you with the various types of questions as well as some of the settings faculty may implement. For example, an instructor may limit the amount of time you have to complete the "quiz." This quiz:

  • Allows you 6 hours to complete; don't worry, you can do this one in a few minutes.
  • Questions will be one at a time and you cannot go back and change your answers.
  • Allows you multiple attempts and latest score will be kept.
  • The questions and the possible answers will be shuffled for multiple choice.
  • You will see the correct answers.

A few additional points to be mindful of are:

  • Online courses may use a Respondus LockDown Browser with Respondus Monitor. This will require you to have a web cam with a microphone, free Respondus LockDown Browser, and a high speed connection. Your connection should not be public wi-fi and anyone on your network during the "quiz" should not be streaming movies or doing other activities that will interfere with your connection.
  • If, for example, you accidentally close the "quiz" or your Internet goes down, your answers are saved automatically and you should log back in as quickly as possible and resume where you left off.
  • If the "quiz" is timed and your time runs out, your "quiz" will be submitted automatically for you.
  • If you have 50 minutes to take a "quiz" don't wait 10 minutes before it is due, because you will then only have 10 minutes to complete the "quiz."
  • Essay questions and file uploads have to be graded manually by the faculty member and so your grade might not look very good until that grading is done.
Only registered, enrolled users can take graded quizzes
